DAVIS AND RUMMEL PACE CRUSHERS PAST WINDY CITY
AVON, Ohio - Andrew Davis posted four hits in four at-bats and Phil Rummel won his second straight start as the Lake Erie Crushers defeated the Windy City ThunderBolts 6-2 Sunday evening at All Pro Freight Stadium in front of 3,572 in a matchup of the last three Frontier League Champions.
ROBERTS PITCHES CRUSHERS PAST BEACH BUMS
TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. - Josh Roberts pitched the Lake Erie Crushers past the Traverse City Beach Bums 3-0 in the series finale on Saturday night.
Traverse City starter Ryan Platt retired 12 straight Lake Erie batters following a first inning two-out single off the bat of Andrew Davis. Wayne Bond Josh Roberts was just as strong for the Crushers, sitting down eight in a row following a second inning single for Bobby Spain.
CRUSHERS CAPTURE 12-INNING MARATHON
TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. - The Lake Erie Crushers failed to hold a 6-1 lead, but posted a 7-6 victory over the Traverse City Beach Bums in 12 innings on Friday night.
Lake Erie scored in the top of the first, taking a 1-0 lead when Andrew Davis singled up the middle to score Jodam Rivera. Rivera singled with one out and stole second. Traverse City tied the game in the bottom of the second as Chase Burch lined the first pitch from Travis Risser over the fence in left for his third homer of the season.
