I joined the Duck Radio family (then known as the LCCC Radio Club) in January of 2003, working my way from up behind-the-scenes and doing anything they asked me to do to currently being Duck Radio’s Business/Promotions Director. I have learned that this business is all about networking and working your way up the ladder.

I first stepped behind the mic in May 2005 when I joined The Madmann as his co-host for "The Final Score." Soon after we were joined by the Donnage, and the three of us became the best sports analysts in the world.

As well as being a part of Duck Radio, I have also spent time at WEOL, WOBL, and WDLW working as a news and/or sports intern. Another piece of my broadcasting career that I’m proud of is having spent two and a half years at Bowling Green State University’s WFAL Falcon Radio as their Assistant General Manager, Program Director, and Promotions Director.

It was there at WFAL that I had the opportunity to train the next generation of disc jockeys in the radio business. Training people and helping them learn the ins and outs of the media business gives me the opportunity to pass along the knowledge that my wonderful teachers, Ron Jantz, Chris Coleman, Bernie Kimpal, Jason Gibbs, Dave DeNatale, Lori Liggett, and Jim Barnes (I don't think I left anyone out), passed on to me. Without their help, guidance, and countless hours of answers to my seemingly endless questions, I wouldn’t be where I am today. They took the time to teach me the media business, and when I train new disc jockeys it’s my way of passing the torch. When I see names of people that I helped train, like Tim Kilkenny, “Big Matt” Leininger, Ryan Gasser, Pat Dougherty, and Tim Boswell (here at Duck Radio), I’m proud to have had an influence on their careers in some capacity.

Now, don’t think that while I was at WFAL or any other radio station that I left my Duck Radio duties behind--I was still acting as Promotions Director for Duck Radio. I’m responsible for booking interviews, building business relationships, and securing the tickets that we give away to places like The Quicken Loans Arena, House of Blues, Cleveland Agora, Hilarities Comedy Club, Peabody’s, and World Wrestling Entertainment. It takes a lot of cooperation and teamwork to make everything run smoothly.

I have received two pieces of advice that have been extremely helpful while working my way up the ladder in the media business:

1.) NEVER say “I Can’t”, because you don’t know if you can do something until you try.

2.) Learn as much about the business as you possibly can. The more you know, the better off you’ll be.
