CRUSHERS SHUTOUT AT TRAVERSE CITY IN OPENER

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. - The Lake Erie Crushers opened a brief three-game roadswing by falling 5-0 to the Traverse City Beach Bums in Michigan.

The Crushers threatened in the first three innings but could not break through against Traverse City starter Michael Moore. The Beach Bums were able to take a 3-0 lead with three runs in the bottom of the fourth. Kyle Eveland led off the inning with the first Traverse City hit of the night against Lake Erie starter Esmelvin Jimenez. With the bases loaded following a walk and a hit batsman, Chase Burch was hit by a pitch to force in a run. Two more runs crossed on an error following a groundout.

Jimenez lasted four innings in his second start, walking two, hitting four, and striking out two. The Beach Bums extended the lead with two runs in the sixth against Jeff Cinadr. Tommy Johnson posted a two-run single.

Eddie Tisdale recorded three of the six hits for the Crushers, logging his 10th double of the season in the defeat. Andrew Davis reached base three times with a single and a pair of walks. Jodam Rivera singled in his first two at bats.

The series will continue tomorrow night with a 7:05 pm contest. RHP Travis Risser (2-2, 3.03) starts for the Crushers opposite LHP Enrique Lechuga (1-2, 4.75) for the Beach Bums.
