AVON, Ohio - Andrew Davis posted four hits in four at-bats and Phil Rummel won his second straight start as the Lake Erie Crushers defeated the Windy City ThunderBolts 6-2 Sunday evening at All Pro Freight Stadium in front of 3,572 in a matchup of the last three Frontier League Champions.

The Crushers posted a run in the bottom of the first when Davis struck for the first time. He singled home Dom Duggan, who reached on a bunt single, to give Lake Erie the 1-0 advantage. Windy City answered immediately as Mike Torres knocked in Zach Aakhus with an RBI-single to tie the score in the second.

The game would remain tied until the Crushers struck for three runs in the fifth. Eddie Tisdale was hit by a pitch and Arden McWilliams walked before both scored on a single off the bat of Lee Huggins. Consecutive singles by Joel Collins and Dom Duggan loaded the bases for Andrew Davis, who singled for the second time to make the score 4-1. Eddie Tisdale scored on a passed ball in the sixth to push the lead to 5-1.

Windy City left the bases loaded in the sixth and scored a run on J.T. Restko's single in the seventh, but the efforts proved in vain. Lake Erie added a final insurance run in the seventh on an RBI double by Tisdale to score Davis.

Phil Rummel was once again solid at home, pitching six innings allowing one earned run, the first he's been charged with at All Pro Freight Stadium this season. His home ERA is 0.50. He won his second consecutive start and scattered six hits while striking out two.
